This initiative was started in 2009 by Antonia Hall. In partnership with the local Maasai women of Tassia the Women’s Group was formed. The philosophy behind it was to utilise the traditional beading skills of the women in order to create a sustainable source of income for themselves and their families, thus giving them complete independence.
They aim to source all materials where possible from recycled items and develop fashionable and wearable designs, which still retain the traditional Maasai look. Such as, beaded clutch bags, belts and bracelets, to more practical products such as coasters, jewellery boxes and candleholders.
